Gated Communities – On The Rise

Although gated communities have had a presence in Pakistan since the 1990s, the trend began traction in the last five years, prevailing law and order situation.

Consequently, there are approximately 45 gated communities in Pakistan, the majority of which have been established in the last five years. This number is relied upon to increment no less than 80 inside of the following three years.

Gated groups are generally settled on substantial plots of land measuring five to 10 acres of land and are enclosed within a boundary wall; facilities include clinics, commercial pockets, community centres, mosques, parks and round-the-clock security.

Residential property options are primarily restricted to houses, although apartments are now being introduced as well. Their value is 10 to 30% higher compared to property in surrounding areas, which makes investment in gated communities a lucrative option.

ISLAMABAD.

Gated communities are situated near: GT Road, Islamabad Highway, Naval Anchorage Road and PWD Road.
